Guruvayoor (Kerala), July 7 (NationPress) Following a delay caused by adverse weather conditions, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was finally able to offer his prayers at the renowned Sree Krishna Temple on Monday afternoon.
“I am truly thankful for the cherished chance to have darshan at the Guruvayur Temple in Kerala and to seek the divine blessings of Lord Krishna. The spiritual ambiance within the sacred grounds has left me profoundly moved. I offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and welfare of our great nation and its citizens. May the eternal grace of Lord Krishna guide us towards a more robust and united India,” the Vice President shared on his X handle.
Initially, his visit to the temple was set for around 9 a.m. with his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, but the plans were disrupted when his helicopter from Kochi couldn’t land at the college grounds nearby due to inclement weather.
As a result, the helicopter had to return to Kochi, leading Dhankhar to participate in a scheduled event at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), where he engaged with students and faculty.
This event at NUALS highlighted modern legal education, constitutional values, and the crucial role of youth in fortifying democratic institutions.
After the programme and lunch, the weather improved, allowing Dhankhar’s helicopter to successfully land at the college grounds adjacent to the temple. He then proceeded directly to the Sree Krishna Temple to offer his prayers.
The temple authorities had organized extensive preparations for this high-profile visit, temporarily cordoning off specific areas to accommodate the limited time before the temple’s afternoon closure at 2 p.m.
Vice President Dhankhar had arrived in Kochi on Sunday afternoon and stayed overnight at the Southern Naval Command guest house. In anticipation of his visit, Kochi City Police imposed traffic restrictions from 2 p.m. on Sunday and further controls from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday along National Highway 544 and parts of Kalamassery.
He is expected to depart from Kochi later today.
