New Delhi, June 13 (NationPress) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is set to visit Puducherry for three days beginning Sunday to participate in a series of events focused on environmental sustainability and nation building, as per an official announcement.
On June 16, he will serve as the Chief Guest at a program organized by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) under the theme ‘Environmental Sustainability in Building the Nation’.
His visit will conclude on June 17, during which the Vice President and Chancellor of Pondicherry University will engage with students, faculty, and staff members at the university.
On Friday, Dhankhar had a meeting with the Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, at the Vice-President's Enclave.
This meeting was followed by an interaction with Lakshmi V. Venkatesan, the Founding and Managing Trustee of the Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust, and daughter of the late former President R. Venkataraman.
During their discussion, V-P Dhankhar recalled that the former President had administered his oath of office as Union Minister on April 21, 1990.
The Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust previously hosted a summit focusing on ‘Mentoring Grassroots Entrepreneurs in Smart Grams for Inclusive Growth’, aimed at enhancing employability initiatives and encouraging youth entrepreneurship. This event brought together industry leaders, mentors from various fields, and entrepreneurs from BYST to discuss achieving sustainable employability.
The summit set a national agenda for youth entrepreneurship and included special sessions like ‘Gurukul Diaries: In conversation with a Mentor’, ‘Promoting 'Smart Grampreneurs'’, and ‘Entrepreneurship: How it can power urban development’.
On Thursday, the Vice President expressed his condolences regarding the tragic incident of Air India Flight AI 171, describing it as a heart-wrenching disaster. He extended his sympathies to the affected families and offered prayers for their strength and recovery.
“The unfortunate incident in Ahmedabad has resulted in a devastating human tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected. In this moment of grief, our nation stands united with them,” stated Dhankhar in a post on X.
