Jaipur, April 21 (NationPress) The Vice-President (V-P) Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted the necessity for creating fresh opportunities in tourism, education, and healthcare within Rajasthan, asserting that Jaipur possesses significant potential for providing a superior quality of life.

While addressing the Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industries (FORTI) members during an event in Jaipur, he shared his insights.

During the celebration of Civil Services Day, V-P Dhankhar conveyed his best wishes to all civil servants nationwide.

"I commend every civil servant across the nation. In a democracy, civil servants are pivotal in governance and progress. They act as the bridge transforming policy into reality," he stated.

Referring to civil servants as the genuine watchdogs and defenders of federalism, he remarked, "They must vow on this solemn occasion to believe in systematic operation and adherence to rules. If civil servants become aligned with political entities, or specific individuals in industry, trade, or commerce, then the system's integrity is compromised. This ingratiation of civil service can pose a significant threat to federal polity."

Addressing India’s escalating aspirations, the Vice-President stated, "India stands as the most aspirational nation globally. Public expectations have surged, and competition has become fiercer. In this environment, even a minor slowdown in development can lead to unrest. This highlights the need for a responsive and efficient civil service."

V-P Dhankhar also stressed the necessity of a resilient federal structure, emphasizing that diverse political leadership across states amplifies the significance of civil services.

He characterized civil servants as "true sentinels and guardians of federalism," urging them to reaffirm their dedication to rule-based and transparent governance.

He warned against improper alliances between civil servants and political or business interests, cautioning that such collaborations could undermine the system and harm federalism.

Addressing attendees at the event, the Vice-President underlined Rajasthan's vast potential across multiple sectors.

"Rajasthan is endowed with a rich cultural heritage and plentiful resources. From Jaipur -- the Pink City -- to Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bundi, Tonk, Ajmer, Shekhawati, Alwar, and Bharatpur -- the state is replete with treasures," he noted, highlighting the state's numerous UNESCO Heritage Sites.

Comparing the development pace in Rajasthan to cities like Gurugram, Noida, Pune, and Bengaluru, V-P Dhankhar called for strategic initiatives to unlock Rajasthan's potential in sectors like tourism, education, healthcare, minerals, textiles, handicrafts, renewable energy, and the service industry.

"Despite its natural advantages, Rajasthan has yet to witness the rise of significant greenfield projects," he remarked.

The Vice-President advocated for the formation of additional think-tanks similar to FORTI to stimulate innovation and enhance value addition in Rajasthan’s resources.

"We should transcend conventional trading practices. Development cannot be fueled solely by sentiment," he asserted, particularly emphasizing the need to utilize the state's mineral wealth more effectively.

Concluding his address, Dhankhar described Jaipur as a "world-class city" with the capacity to become a major hub for service and IT industries, owing to its proximity to Delhi and its high livability.

"There exists a genuine opportunity here to enhance living standards and make the city more appealing to families and businesses," he stated.

He urged stakeholders to "reinvent themselves" and collaborate to boost tourism and stimulate growth through greenfield investments, particularly in the health and education sectors.

V-P Jagdeep Dhankhar's wife Sudesh Dhankhar, Rajasthan Minister of Cooperation and Civil Aviation Gautam Kumar Dak, FORTI Chairman Suresh Aggarwal, Chief Patron Surjaram Meel, and other notable dignitaries were present at the event.
