Jammu, Feb 15 (NationPress) On Saturday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized that the youth of the nation are currently experiencing a period where their minds can be unfettered by fear due to a flourishing economy, a situation fostered by an ideal ecosystem that had long been absent.

While officiating at the 10th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in Katra, Dhankhar referred to the youth as crucial stakeholders in democracy, asserting, “You must propel the engine of progress. Nothing can hinder you because we take pride in being Indians.”

He noted the country’s ascent and the acclaim received from global institutions, recognizing India as a preferred destination for investment and opportunities. “We had long been deprived of this ecosystem. But now, young men and women, you are in a time where your minds can be fearless as our economy flourishes and our nation's achievements are acknowledged globally,” he stated.

The Vice President reminisced about his previous “painful” visit to Jammu and Kashmir, contrasting it with the present prosperity. “It was a moment of glory for me in the Rajya Sabha when it was announced that over two crore tourists had visited Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.

Earlier, Dhankhar and his wife honored the memory of their late mothers by planting saplings at the university, symbolizing remembrance and environmental awareness.

Upon their arrival at Jammu Airport, they received a warm welcome from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Last month, the Vice President underscored the significance of education for women, stating, “Education is empowering, but for women, it holds even greater importance as they are quick to learn, acquire skills, and adapt, making what they learn largely accessible.”

“In sports, our girls have performed remarkably. I hold a positive outlook for Bharat, I am confident about Bharat, and I trust in your gender,” he concluded.
