Vice President Dhankhar Emphasizes a Nation-First Ethos to NCC Cadets

New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) No nation can truly advance unless its citizens exhibit a profound commitment to nationalism, stated Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during a speech on Sunday.
While inaugurating the 2025 NCC Republic Day camp, Dhankhar remarked: "Nationalism must take precedence over all other interests, whether they are personal or organizational. A 'nation-first' mindset should be our sole focus. Uphold these principles as a tribute to our motherland. You embody the elite youth of this country. Your affiliation with the NCC - a highly disciplined organization - equips you to adopt these virtues that are vital for personal development."
He outlined five crucial values, or PanchPran, that will cultivate a robust nationalistic spirit founded on responsibility, ethical values, and awareness.
"Implement them daily and remain vigilant against anti-national elements to protect our democratic principles. Our commitment to the motherland must be unwavering, resolute, and steadfast, as it serves as the bedrock of our existence," he asserted.
Challenges emerge as the nation experiences a globally recognized rise—incremental over the past decade, admired worldwide and positively influencing every citizen.
Further expanding on the PanchPran, Dhankhar stated: "Social harmony, which converts diversity into national unity, is crucial. Instilling patriotic values at the grassroots level must initiate with enlightenment within our families. The family is the foundation where these admirable qualities are nurtured.
"In honoring Bharat Mata, we must also safeguard, conserve, and foster a sustainable environment. Swadeshi and self-reliance epitomize Atmanirbhar Bharat, and they must be actively championed. Lastly, civic responsibilities should direct every citizen toward progress," he emphasized.
The Vice President referred to the cadets as the architects of India’s future glory as we approach 2047.
"Your generation will shape India’s greatness. We are in an era of national optimism as we near becoming the world's third-largest economy. Opportunities for youth are expanding as global institutions recognize Bharat as a prime investment hub."
Dhankhar concluded: "This progress has been realized through comprehensive growth mechanisms in infrastructure, technology, and the establishment of an ecosystem where every young person can tap into their potential and talent. Governance has implemented essential initiatives and policy changes, transitioning from discriminatory to merit-based systems across the board."
