New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) The Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, encouraged students on Wednesday to embrace the notion of failure, stating that it is merely a misconception and nothing more.

“Our priority must always be the nation. No interest can surpass the national interest. Personal and political ambitions are trivial,” Dhankhar remarked during a convocation ceremony at Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal Vidyapeeth (JCD) in Sirsa, Haryana.

He urged students to select careers aligned with their passions and skills. "Let your life flow like a river rather than be confined like a canal... In the past, when a child was born, parents dictated their career path," he noted.

Dhankhar highlighted that India presents myriad opportunities to its youth, which they should seize. “Look around you; your array of opportunities is constantly expanding. It exists in the blue economy and space economy. You are in Bharat at a moment when no other nation has experienced such rapid growth in the last decade. There is a significant economic surge, remarkable infrastructure development, extensive digitization, and technological advancement,” he asserted.

“If I share some statistics, you might be astonished. The per capita internet usage in Bharat surpasses that of China and the USA combined. When it comes to digital transactions, we execute four times the total transactions of the USA, UK, France, and Germany together,” claimed the Vice President.

“Examining our economy, which was quite fragile a decade ago, our foreign exchange reserves have now surpassed $700 billion,” he added.

“You are fortunate to be living in a time when Bharat is replete with endless possibilities. An ecosystem has been established, supported by affirmative government policies and assistance that empower you to harness your talents and achieve your goals,” Dhankhar expressed to the audience.

“Meritocracy is the norm now. Given this reality, you should aspire for greatness. Do not succumb to stress or anxiety. The fear of failure is the most debilitating fear because it is a myth. Failure is simply an attempt that has not yet succeeded,” he explained.

Vice President Dhankhar continued, “Some individuals labeled Chandrayaan-2 a failure... It came remarkably close to the lunar surface but did not make contact. In my view, it was over 90 percent successful… This led to the success of Chandrayaan-3. Thus, failure is just a myth.”

He emphasized that failure offers a chance to improve. “Many of the greatest achievements in history never succeeded on the first try,” Dhankhar noted.

“If you possess a brilliant idea, do not let it remain unexpressed; that would be the greatest injustice to yourself and humanity,” he urged. The Vice President encouraged students to innovate and think creatively. “Consider what has transpired in this country, especially over the past decade. Startups, unicorns… therefore, do not fear, do not stress; experiment according to your preferences. You will have much to contribute to the nation,” Dhankhar remarked, referencing the various opportunities available to today's youth.

He advised students to think ambitiously. “Disruptive technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Blockchain, and Machine Learning are all part of a transformative shift occurring constantly, bringing enormous challenges that you must convert into opportunities,” he explained.

Discussing India's advancements, Vice President Dhankhar told the students, “No other nation has achieved such rapid progress as Bharat in the last decade.”
