Vadodara, Feb 2 (NationPress) The prestigious Guinness World Records awarded a certificate recognizing the largest simultaneous Hindu text recital to Mahant Swami Maharaj on Monday, as the 92nd birth anniversary celebrations of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) spiritual leader concluded in Gujarat's Vadodara, attracting nearly 200,000 devotees from across the nation.

This recognition came after a year-long endeavor where 15,666 children, aged between three and 13, successfully completed the full Sanskrit recital of the Satsang Diksha, a scripture authored by Mahant Swami Maharaj, consisting of 315 shlokas that provide insights for spiritual, moral, social, and practical living.

Officials from Guinness World Records, who journeyed from England for this momentous occasion, confirmed that 12,723 children were present at the venue, where they were officially counted for the record.

This event marked the culmination of the five-month-long 92nd Janma Jayanti Mahotsav honoring Mahant Swami Maharaj, the current spiritual leader of BAPS.

The program showcased extensive cultural performances featuring hundreds of participants, special videos celebrating his life and teachings, and talks by senior BAPS swamis reflecting on his humility, spiritual depth, and selfless service.

Among the distinguished guests were Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who were welcomed by senior swamis from the organization.

A letter conveying greetings from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah was presented during the event.

Addressing the audience, Chief Minister Yadav mentioned Jabalpur, the birthplace of Mahant Swami Maharaj, expressing pride and joy that such a revered spiritual figure originated from the region.

Several initiatives were unveiled during the celebrations.

Mahant Swami Maharaj inaugurated a mobile school project aimed at expanding education to tribal areas under the theme 'Har Ghar Ghar Shiksha Ki Jyot Jale'.

BAPS also launched a dedicated YouTube channel for children called 'BAPS Kids' and officially released the book 'Insights from the Satsang Diksha', authored by Mahant Swami Maharaj.

The program concluded with devotees offering mantra-pushpanjali, followed by a large-scale collective aarti performed under the open sky.

Organizers noted that the lighting of lakhs of diyas during the aarti created an emotionally charged atmosphere.

In his final blessings, Mahant Swami Maharaj encouraged devotees to lead lives grounded in faith, humility, and service.

Approximately 800 BAPS swamis and nearly 200,000 devotees participated in the event.

Preparations took over three months, involving hundreds of swamis and around 14,000 volunteers across 34 departments, with the support of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation for security and civic arrangements.
