Bengaluru, Oct 3 (NationPress) Congress General Secretary and MP K. C. Venugopal visited AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, who recently had a pacemaker surgery, at his home in Bengaluru on Friday.
Venugopal also mentioned that Kharge is already back to his duties.
“Mallikarjun Kharge’s health is on the mend. Given his dedication, we've advised him to take some time off. We visited AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, who has been receiving treatment for health concerns, to inquire about his status. His health is showing signs of improvement. Our President is a relentless worker — he dedicates 24 hours a day to the party.
“Wherever he is needed, he travels for party events. Whether it's the northeastern states or the most remote areas of the country, he has always made himself available,” he stated.
“He is enthusiastic about returning to party activities, but we have urged him to prioritize his recovery. Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi are in continuous touch with Kharge and keeping tabs on his health,” he added.
In a post on social media platform X, Venugopal expressed, "I visited Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji in Bengaluru today. I’m pleased to learn that he is in good health after his medical procedure and is back to overseeing party activities!"

Kharge, having successfully undergone pacemaker surgery, has been released from the hospital in Bengaluru, as confirmed by the Indian National Congress on social media.
"Kharge has been discharged from the hospital this evening. He is doing well and extends his gratitude to everyone for their warm wishes. He looks forward to resuming his activities soon as advised. We appreciate all the good wishes and support," the Indian National Congress announced.
Kharge was admitted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru after experiencing fatigue and breathing difficulties following an intensive campaign in Bihar.
Kharge is actively engaged in the Bihar election campaign.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Kharge, who had successful pacemaker implantation surgery in Bengaluru, to wish him a speedy recovery.
In his post on X, PM Modi shared, "I spoke to Kharge Ji, inquired about his health, and wished him a quick recovery. I'm praying for his continued well-being and longevity."
Kharge underwent a planned pacemaker implantation procedure at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday. His family confirmed that he is set to return to work on October 3.
