Bengaluru, July 4 (NationPress) In response to Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge's repeated claims regarding a ban on RSS if Congress regains power at the Centre, state BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra labeled these comments as absurd.
Speaking to reporters at the BJP state office, Jagannath Bhavan, in Bengaluru on Friday, he remarked, "We will not dignify such absurd statements with a response. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved a third term, and his popularity continues to soar. The nation is advancing swiftly."
He emphasized that if such irresponsible statements were taken seriously, India would not have emerged as the fourth-largest economy globally.
Vijayendra praised Prime Minister Modi's decade-long leadership, stating, "His commitment to development has rightfully positioned India on the global stage. If Priyank Kharge entertains dreams of Congress returning to power, we hold no objections."
He criticized the IAS Officers' Association for their recent meeting with the Chief Minister demanding action against BJP MLC N. Ravikumar, questioning, "Where was the IAS Officers’ Association when the Chief Minister insulted IAS officers? Why didn't they raise a complaint back then?"
"I am aware of the media reports related to MLC Ravikumar’s statements, which he has clarified. It was also reported that the IAS Officers’ Association approached the Chief Minister with a complaint," he added.
“Let’s not focus solely on MLC Ravikumar’s issue. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah publicly attempted to slap a senior police officer during a rally in Belagavi. Where was the IAS Officers’ Association then? At another event, he insulted a Deputy Commissioner by saying, ‘Hey, stand up!’ Why was there no complaint from the Association then?” he further questioned.
“This issue is up for discussion. The public is keeping a close watch,” he remarked.
“Many are eager to assume the Chief Minister's role. They plan to involve Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala in various ceremonial events. It will be interesting to observe how things unfold,” he said when asked about Congress infighting.
“The identity of the next CM is irrelevant to us if Siddaramaiah steps down. What truly matters is the dissatisfaction of the people of Karnataka with this Congress administration. They show no concern for the troubled farmers,” Vijayendra criticized.
“This Congress government is struggling to provide housing for the underprivileged or to execute the Ganga Kalyana scheme. The question of who becomes CM is moot. Development is stagnant. For the first time in history, the Congress is unable to pay salaries to its employees,” he lamented.
“Even in the Police Department, salaries are delayed. In the Irrigation Department, payments have been inconsistent for the past 2–3 months. This issue is pervasive across all departments,” Vijayendra stated.
“People are questioning whether such a financially crippled government can endure,” he added.
“Regardless of who leads, conditions will not improve,” he concluded.
“Not only BJP leaders but also the general populace is discussing the need for a change in government. Even some ruling party MLAs are voicing their concerns. In response to Ramanagara MLA Iqbal Hussain’s statement, I ask – what is the Chief Minister’s stance?” he questioned.
MLA Iqbal Hussain, after being cautioned by the party against making statements on leadership, expressed that Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar should take over as CM.
“Union Minister and senior leader Pralhad Joshi is working to resolve some internal matters within certain districts of our party. I personally urged him to address these minor issues. He is currently dedicating time to understand and resolve them,” Vijayendra concluded.
