Mumbai, Oct 23 (NationPress) Music composer and vocalist Vishal Dadlani took a reflective journey into his past on Thursday, sharing a heartfelt post regarding his inaugural Bollywood interview from 1999.
The artist reminisced about his appearance on Shekhar Suman’s renowned talk show “Movers & Shakers” at the young age of 25, describing himself as “just a rock and roll kid” who genuinely had “no idea” about the industry at that time. Looking back, Dadlani expressed that it feels like both “yesterday and ten thousand years ago.” On his Instagram account, he shared a clip from his nostalgic interview, stating, “Just a rock and roll kid doing his first-ever Bollywood interview. This was 1999, I was 25, and when I said I had no idea, I really didn’t! (Still don’t!) @shekhusuman #MoversAndShakers Funny thing is, it feels like both yesterday and ten thousand years ago, at the same time.”
In the video, Shekhar is heard asking, “You know Vishal, Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, for which you provided the music, is regarded as a very youthful film. What does being a young film mean, and how did you become part of the brat pack?”
Vishal responded, “I knew Raj, so we had these couple of songs, and Raj heard them. He said, ‘Hey great, I've got to include these in my film.’ So there we were. The exciting part is that many new talents are emerging, young individuals with fresh ideas, like Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Sandeep Chhota, and others. Hindi film music has evolved so much, and in the next five years, it’s going to transform again because of these people.”
Currently, Vishal Dadlani serves as a judge on the reality show “Indian Idol 16.” He previously mentioned that singer Shreya Ghoshal significantly encouraged him to participate in the show. He shared with IANS, “I’m here because of two things. One, my friend Guplu (Shreya) had a late-night conversation with me a few weeks ago, and we had so much fun that I realized how much I missed that weekly connection! I genuinely wanted to spend more time with her and Badshah, so I’m thrilled to be back. The other reason is to experience these remarkable new talents sing. There’s no better job in the world; it never feels like work!”
