New Delhi, Oct 14 (NationPress) Actor Vishal Jethwa, whose film “Homebound” has been declared as India's official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards, reveals that the film has significantly impacted his life, both in his career and personal growth.
In a conversation with IANS during a recent fashion event about the Neeraj Ghaywan-directed “Homebound”, Vishal expressed, “It was an incredible experience. We poured our hearts into this film. Our pride in this project is immense, especially with its international acceptance. My own journey through this has been rewarding.”
“It was transformative,” the actor admitted, highlighting the profound changes he experienced as both an artist and an individual.
“This film has altered my perspective. I now perceive society in a remarkably different light. The transformation I've undergone is significant, and I am deeply thankful for it,” he shared.
The film, produced by Dharma Productions, narrates the tale of two childhood friends from a quaint village in North India who aspire to become police officers, believing that this career will earn them the respect they have always yearned for. However, as they edge closer to their aspirations, the mounting pressure and challenges begin to strain their friendship. The film features Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa.
It premiered globally in the Un Certain Regard category at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a remarkable nine-minute standing ovation after the screening.
