New Delhi, Nov 21 (NationPress) Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan is set to embark on a two-day journey to Andhra Pradesh beginning Saturday. During this visit, he will partake in the centenary festivities honoring Sri Sathya Sai Baba and will also engage with trainee civil servants, according to an official statement.
On Saturday, the Vice President will serve as the Chief Guest at the 44th Convocation of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, located in Prasanthi Nilayam, Puttaparthi.
The following day, he will grace the grand centenary celebrations at the Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium in Puttaparthi, where he will be the Chief Guest, as confirmed by an official announcement.
Additionally, the Vice President will visit the new premises of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN) in Palasamudram and will address the Officer Trainees from the All India Services and Central Civil Services who are undergoing their Special Foundation Course.
On the same day, he will also travel to Rajasthan to participate in a family function hosted by Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur in Sadri, Pali, as per the statement.
Last week, Vice President Radhakrishnan, who also holds the position of Chairman of Rajya Sabha, convened a meeting with Deputy Chairman Harivansh and the Secretary General of the Upper House to prepare for the upcoming Winter Session at Parliament House.
The discussions focused on arrangements for legislative proceedings and other provisions for MPs addressing queries.
The Winter Session is particularly significant as it will mark the debut of Vice President Radhakrishnan as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. He took the oath of office as the 15th Vice President on September 12.
Scheduled to commence on December 1 and potentially concluding by December 19, the Winter Session is anticipated to cover various legislative matters.
On October 21, Radhakrishnan toured several departments within the Rajya Sabha Secretariat at Parliament House, engaging with the staff. He acknowledged their vital role in maintaining the efficient operation of the Rajya Sabha during this visit, which included key departments such as the Table Office, Legislative Section, Question Branch, Members' Salaries and Allowances Branch, Members' Amenities Section, Bill Office, Notice Office, Lobby Office, and Reporters' Branch.
