New Delhi, Oct 30 (NationPress) Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to embark on a one-day trip to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh this Friday to offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, as confirmed by an official statement.
During his visit, the Vice President will preside over the inauguration of the new Satram Building located in Sigra, Varanasi, where he will be the Chief Guest alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Sri Kasi Nattukkottai Nagara Satram Managing Society has developed this 10-storey Satram, which comprises 140 rooms and has an estimated cost of Rs 60 crores.
This marks the second Satram constructed by the Society in Varanasi, designed to accommodate visiting devotees and promote the younger generations' interest in visiting this sacred city.
This initiative is a reflection of the enduring spiritual and cultural link between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, symbolizing the profound Kashi-Tamil connection under the ethos of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
After the inauguration, the Vice President will proceed to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer his prayers.
Earlier, Radhakrishnan concluded his recent visit to Tamil Nadu on Thursday, where he participated in a series of events across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai, and Ramanathapuram from October 28 to 30.
On the last day of his Tamil Nadu trip, the Vice President visited Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram District to pay solemn tributes to the esteemed leader Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar during his jayanti and Guru Pooja.
The Vice President praised Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar as a remarkable warrior, a fearless fighter, a revered saint, and a true patriot who devoted his life to the nation and its citizens.
He characterized Muthuramalinga Thevar as a devoted follower of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, embodying courage, sacrifice, and patriotism in both thought and action. The Vice President emphasized that Muthuramalinga Thevar represented a leader for all communities and faiths.
Expressing his privilege in attending Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar Jayanthi and Guru Pooja for the past 25 years, the Vice President conveyed immense joy in participating once again in this year’s celebrations during his first visit to Tamil Nadu after taking office.
