Bengaluru, Oct 13 (NationPress) A disturbing case has emerged from Chikkaballapur district in Karnataka, where a young woman was gang-raped by two men who offered her a ride on a motorcycle under the guise of assistance. The police have apprehended the two suspects linked to this heinous act.
The individuals involved have been named as Sikandar Baba and Janardhanachari, both of whom reside in Chikkaballapur city.
The victim is receiving care at the Swadhar Institute of Development for Women and Children. This shocking incident occurred on the Manchenahalli road leading into Chikkaballapur city.
Reports indicate that the young woman had traveled to Chikkaballapur in search of employment and was making her way towards Manchenahalli after making some inquiries.
Sikandar, riding a motorcycle, noticed her and offered to give her a lift, which she accepted. Instead, he took her to a secluded area and assaulted her.
Sikandar then summoned his accomplice, Janardhanachari, who also raped the victim. In a further act of cruelty, they stole her gold earrings before leaving her at a nearby petrol station and fleeing the scene.
Concerned local residents found the victim in a state of shock and, after learning of the incident, escorted her to the women’s police station.
The Chikkaballapur Women’s Police took swift action, registering the case and initiating an investigation that included reviewing CCTV footage that captured the perpetrators. With their identities confirmed, police were able to track them down and make arrests.
The suspects are said to have admitted to selling the stolen gold earrings. The police are continuing their investigation.
This incident follows a similar case earlier in July, where four men were arrested in Bengaluru for gang-raping a 34-year-old woman at her friend’s residence and robbing both women.
Additionally, on August 9, a mentally challenged woman was reportedly gang-raped in Hassan district, with the act being recorded on video. This horrific event was brought to light when her brother filed a complaint after receiving a copy of the video that had been circulated.
