New Delhi, Dec 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, commemorated Armed Forces Flag Day on Sunday by introducing a uniquely crafted ‘Flag Pin’ and ‘Souvenir’ at his official residence in Lucknow. The event was aimed at paying tribute to the immense sacrifices made by India’s soldiers while reinforcing the nation’s dedication to the welfare of Armed Forces members and their families.

As stated by the Chief Minister’s office, this initiative showcases the government’s relentless commitment to honoring the valor, service, and sacrifices of those who protect the nation's borders.

Annually observed on December 7, Armed Forces Flag Day highlights the contributions of India's military heroes and bolsters fundraising for the rehabilitation and welfare of ex-servicemen, war widows, and their dependents.

Following the ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to social media to express his heartfelt gratitude to the Armed Forces personnel. He posted, “Warm wishes on 'Armed Forces Flag Day' to the brave soldiers of the Indian Army, who are tirelessly engaged in safeguarding our nation! Let’s all commit to showing our appreciation for the courage, dedication, and duty of our heroic soldiers and actively participate in their welfare. Jai Hind!”

Earlier, he had shared a similar message on X, extending his congratulations and good wishes. He wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the courageous soldiers of our armed forces and their families on ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’. Salutations to all the soldiers who, with unwavering courage and heroism, fulfill their duties and sacrifice everything for the unity, integrity, and defense of our nation’s borders. Jai Hind!”

The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of public involvement in welfare initiatives for both serving personnel and veterans.

Uttar Pradesh houses a substantial number of ex-servicemen, and the state government has previously initiated various welfare programs, including financial support, scholarships, and reservation benefits for the families of soldiers.

The events held in Lucknow were attended by senior officials, representatives from ex-servicemen's organizations, and members of the Armed Forces community.
