Do Those Opposing Vande Mataram Deserve to Stay in India?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Lucknow, Feb 13 (NationPress) In a direct challenge to the Samajwadi Party and Congress, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that individuals who oppose Vande Mataram have no right to reside in India.
Speaking during the Assembly Budget Session, he accused the SP and Congress of engaging in appeasement politics, hindering both development and cultural revival in the region.
“Those who reject Vande Mataram are undeserving of Indian soil. Certain political factions thrive on India yet shy away from singing Vande Mataram,” CM Yogi remarked, questioning their allegiance to the nation.
He criticized past SP-led administrations for impeding progress in Ayodhya and Mathura and for resisting religious celebrations like the Kanwar Yatra and Deepotsav.
He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh, a hub of faith, is now experiencing a renaissance where development and heritage coexist. The state has transitioned from a riot-driven economy to a temple-driven economy.
Commenting on the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, he highlighted that while approximately 12 crore devotees attended in previous years, this year saw nearly 21 crore pilgrims. “This surge indicates the public's increasing faith in law and order improvements,” he noted.
Reflecting on the pre-2017 period, the Chief Minister claimed that criminals once operated a parallel government and mafia elements were unchecked. “Daughters and merchants faced insecurity then. Today, Uttar Pradesh is a land of celebration, not turmoil,” he asserted.
He characterized the last nine years as a transition from crime to discipline, curfews to lawfulness, unrest to festivity, and distrust to assurance.
According to him, Uttar Pradesh has evolved from a BIMARU state to the nation’s third-largest economy and a growth catalyst.
Discussing law enforcement advancements, the CM revealed that the state now boasts 12 operational forensic laboratories compared to just two or three previously, in addition to the establishment of a State Forensic Institute in Lucknow. Each district now has cyber police stations, and all police stations are equipped with cyber desks.
He also mentioned that over 60,000 police personnel have been hired, PAC units have been restructured, and women’s PAC battalions have been formed, with additional plans underway.
Citing data from NITI Aayog, Yogi Adityanath stated that over six crore individuals have been elevated out of multidimensional poverty in the past eight years.
He promised that welfare initiatives related to ration distribution, healthcare, and other services would persist without interruption.
He emphasized that his administration is motivated not by a thirst for power but by a dedication to good governance, clear policy guidance, and robust political determination.
