Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 18 (NationPress) Actor Robert Pattinson recently expressed his belief that actress Zendaya may have played a role in his casting for 'Dune: Part 3'.
The 39-year-old actor, who shares the screen with the 'Euphoria' star in 'The Drama', reminisced about their conversations on set about Denis Villeneuve's iconic series, where Zendaya portrays Chani. He inquired if there was a chance for him to join the next installment. However, he was still taken aback when he received a call regarding the project, as reported by 'Female First UK'.
During the trailer launch for 'Dune: Part 3', Deadline noted that Robert, who is set to depict Scytale in the film, told Zendaya, “I was speaking with you on the set of The Drama. I was like, ‘Could I possibly be in one of those Dune films?'”.
She responded playfully, “I know a guy”. Robert continued, “It was quite an unexpected call a few months down the line. I genuinely thought you might have had a hand in it.”
According to 'Female First UK', the British actor hinted that even he is uncertain about whether his character is a hero or a villain.
He remarked, “(Scytale) is a unique figure in the book, and the ambiguity regarding which side he stands on makes it intriguing. I wouldn't categorize him as a traditional antagonist. He might even be a good guy. Who knows? I'll find out when I watch the movie. It's an incredibly enjoyable character to portray, and the appearance is quite extraordinary.”
Meanwhile, writer-director Denis disclosed that the film is set 17 years after the events of 'Dune: Part Two', and it will be “significantly different” from the previous films in the franchise. Although Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides remains central to the narrative.
He elaborated, “It will be a very different film, with a distinct tone, rhythm, and pace. It’s more action-oriented and intense, showcasing a more robust narrative than the first two films. The story unfolds many years after the initial films, akin to the book, Dune Messiah, providing fresh insights on Paul Atreides’ journey. We’ll witness Paul grappling with the ramifications of wielding excessive power and his quest to escape this cycle of violence.”
