Actress Zendaya has opened up about the gruelling stretch during which she was simultaneously shooting three major productions — Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three, and the third season of the hit HBO series Euphoria — admitting the overlap left her exhausted. The revelation came in an interview with Elle.

The Night Shoot That Said It All

'I remember being on set for Euphoria; it was a night shoot at a ranch,' Zendaya told Elle. 'I was so tired, but I was also learning my Chakobsa lines for Dune. And then I started writing out my lines to memorise for that quick turnaround trip I was going to make to Iceland (for The Odyssey).'

The anecdote captures the sheer scale of her workload — three different directors, three different worlds, often within the same week. She also admitted to a rare slip-up: 'It's not like I have a lot of lines in The Odyssey, but I was working with Christopher Nolan! The most embarrassing thing in life would be messing up my lines, which did happen once.'

What Is Coming and When

Zendaya's packed release calendar for 2025 reflects the overlap she describes. She is currently reprising her role as Rue Bennett in Sam Levinson's Euphoria Season 3. On 17 July, she appears as Athena in The Odyssey, followed by Spider-Man: Brand New Day on 31 July, in which she returns as MJ. Her role as Chani in Dune: Part Three arrives on 18 December.

A Planned Break After a Relentless Year

In March, Zendaya signalled she intends to step back once the storm of releases subsides. 'I just hope you guys don't get sick of me this year because I'll tell you what … I'm going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit,' she said. The comment underscores the unusual concentration of high-profile projects landing within a single calendar year.
