Ahmedabad, March 21 (NationPress) - Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has officially announced its victory in securing a power transmission project valued at ₹2,800 crore in Gujarat.
This significant project is scheduled for completion within 36 months and is set to provide green electrons essential for the production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia in Mundra, as stated by India’s foremost private transmission and distribution entity, which is a part of the global Adani Portfolio.
This marks the sixth contract won by Adani Energy Solutions in the current fiscal year, raising its total order book to ₹57,561 crore.
The project entails enhancing the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation with the installation of two substantial 765/400 kV transformers.
Furthermore, a 75-km long 765 kV double-circuit line will be built to link this substation with the Bhuj substation, as per the company's announcement.
This initiative will add 150 circuit kilometers (cKM) of transmission lines and increase the transformation capacity by 3,000 MVA to AESL’s existing transmission framework, bringing totals to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA.
AESL confirmed that it secured the project through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) method, with PFC Consulting Limited overseeing the bidding process.
The project Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) was officially assigned to AESL on March 20, 2025.
As the largest private transmission firm in the country, AESL boasts a cumulative transmission network of 25,928 ckm and a transformation capacity of 87,186 MVA.
In its retail electricity distribution operations, AESL caters to around 13 million customers in metropolitan Mumbai and the industrial zone of Mundra SEZ.
The company is also expanding its smart metering segment and is on track to emerge as India’s top smart metering integrator.
Adani Energy Solutions is poised for substantial growth in its transmission, distribution, and smart meter sectors. The transmission EBITDA is projected to double to ₹76 billion by FY27E, propelled by India's renewable energy (RE) goals, a 20-25% market share in the ₹840 billion near-term transmission bids, and a ₹548 billion project pipeline, according to a recent report from Elara Capital.
