Ahmedabad, May 30 (NationPress) Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) announced on Friday that it has secured a Rs 1,660 crore inter-state transmission project located in Maharashtra.
The scope of the project involves the construction of 3,000 megavolt-amperes (MVA) of substation capacity, along with other essential transmission infrastructure, expanding AESL's total transmission network to 26,696 ckm (circuit kilometres) and 93,236 MVA of transformation capacity.
AESL, recognized as India's largest private transmission and distribution entity and a key player in the global Adani portfolio, indicated that the project is expected to be operational by January 2028.
This initiative, managed under the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission Ltd, aims to facilitate the evacuation of 1.5 GW of renewable energy from forthcoming hydro Pumped Storage Projects (PSP) in the area, addressing the energy needs of Mumbai and its neighboring regions.
The project SPV has been officially handed over to AESL.
AESL successfully obtained this Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process, with REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) overseeing the bidding.
Following this contract win, AESL's transmission order book now totals Rs 61,600 crore, as reported by the company.
In FY25, Adani Energy Solutions achieved a remarkable 103 percent growth in annual profit after tax (PAT), reaching an unprecedented Rs 2,427 crore, along with an 87 percent PAT increase to Rs 714 crore in Q4 (January-March).
The Adani Group subsidiary also demonstrated a substantial 42 percent year-on-year growth in total income, amounting to Rs 24,447 crore in FY25, the highest to date, fueled by contributions from recently launched transmission projects, strong energy sales in Mumbai and Mundra utilities, and advancements in the smart metering sector.
During the March quarter, the company secured two new transmission projects: Navinal (Mundra) Phase I Part B1 and Mahan Transmission Ltd.
