Adani Green Leads as Top Wealth Generator, Adani Enterprises Named Best Overall: MOFSL

Mumbai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Adani Green has been recognized as the fastest wealth generator over the five-year span from 2019 to March 2024, showcasing an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 118 percent, according to a recent study by Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited (MOFSL).
The findings from the ‘29th Motilal Oswal Annual Wealth Creation Study’ indicate that an investment of Rs 10 lakh in 2019 among the top ten ‘Fastest Wealth Creators’ would grow to approximately Rs 1.75 crore by 2024, yielding a return CAGR of 77 percent. This is significantly higher compared to Nifty 50’s return of 14 percent.
Adani Enterprises has been named the ‘Best All-round Wealth Creator’ for the third consecutive time.
According to the MOFSL study, “We evaluate all-round wealth creators by calculating the total ranks across three categories – Biggest, Fastest, and Consistent. In cases where scores are tied, the stock price CAGR determines the overall rank. Following this assessment, Adani Enterprises stands out as the Best All-round Wealth Creator.”
Between 2019 and 2024, the top 100 wealth creators in India generated a total wealth of Rs 138 lakh crore, achieving a wealth creation rate of 26 percent CAGR, which is notably higher than the BSE Sensex return of 14 percent.
The study classified consistent wealth creators based on the number of years their stock prices have outperformed in the past five years.
In this regard, Linde India, a relatively modest player in the market, has emerged as the Most Consistent Wealth Creator, having outperformed the Nifty Total Return Index every year for the last five years, with the highest price CAGR of 68 percent.
During the examined period, the financial sector was identified as the foremost wealth-generating sector, surpassing both technology and utilities.
Public sector undertakings (PSUs) showed remarkable progress in wealth creation from 2019 to 2024, with 20 PSUs contributing a robust 17 percent of the total wealth created.
The study highlighted that the primary factors propelling PSU wealth creation include the profits of nine financial companies soaring 19 times over the past five years and Coal India’s profits quadrupling during the same period.
