New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Air India has officially revealed plans to recommence its non-stop flights connecting Delhi and Tel Aviv, with the inaugural flight set for March 2.
This resumption is part of the airline's strategy to broaden its international offerings and enhance travel connectivity between India and Israel, as stated in their announcement.
Air India will conduct five weekly flights on this route, utilizing its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
These aircraft feature 18 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 238 comfortable seats in Economy Class. The direct service is anticipated to significantly ease travel between Delhi and Tel Aviv.
According to Air India, flight AI139 is scheduled to depart from Delhi on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 3:55 p.m. (IST), arriving in Tel Aviv at 7:25 p.m. (local time).
The return flight, AI140, will take off from Tel Aviv at 9:10 p.m., landing in Delhi at 6:10 a.m. the next day.
“Reservations for the Delhi-Tel Aviv flights are now available. Passengers can book their seats via Air India’s website, mobile application, or through travel agents,” the national carrier stated.
The revival of this route follows the receipt of necessary approvals and aims to strengthen Air India’s global presence, especially in the Middle East and Europe.
The national carrier had previously suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv last year due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, stating that they were consistently assessing the situation.
The return of this service is expected to enhance travel between India and Israel, further fostering diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries.
Additionally, the Tata group-owned airline announced earlier this month that it will provide in-flight Wi-Fi Internet services on domestic flights.
