Gurugram, July 8 (NationPress) On Tuesday, BMW Group India announced the appointment of Hardeep Singh Brar as the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), starting September 1.
Brar takes over from Vikram Pawah, who will now lead as CEO of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand, as stated by the luxury automobile manufacturer.
According to Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President for Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa at BMW Group, “India is one of the quickest growing markets for BMW Group and a crucial component of our long-term success strategy in the region. Hardeep Singh Brar possesses extensive expertise and a deep understanding of the Indian automotive sector to navigate this vibrant market and enhance BMW Group’s operations here.”
Parain expressed gratitude towards Pawah for his significant contributions to the strategic growth of BMW Group India, emphasizing his vital role in the company’s recent advancements.
Brar comes with over 30 years of valuable experience in the Indian automotive industry, having occupied various senior management roles. His most recent position was as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India.
The company remarked that Pawah has been with BMW Group since 2017 and has effectively directed the company’s operations in both India (2017 – 2018 and 2020 – 2025) and Australia (2018 – 2020).
“In recent years, Pawah focused BMW Group India on amplifying market share through new opportunities and target demographics, elevating electric mobility, digitalization, retail experience, and customer centricity,” stated the automaker.
With brands like BMW, MINI, and Motorrad, the BMW Group is firmly focused on the premium segment of the Indian automotive market. BMW India, which is a fully owned subsidiary of the BMW Group, is based in Gurugram (National Capital Region) and commenced operations in 2007.
Since its launch in January 2012, MINI has successfully positioned itself as a premium small car brand in India.
