New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that BSNL’s 4G stack represents the essence of the swadeshi spirit as he gets ready to launch India’s completely homegrown 4G technology and over 97,500 BSNL towers from Jharsuguda, Odisha.
In response to a post by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on X, PM Modi commented: “Union Minister Scindia highlights how BSNL’s 4G stack embodies the swadeshi spirit.
“With more than 92,000 sites connecting 22 million Indians, it illustrates India’s transformation from reliance to self-assurance, fostering job creation, exports, fiscal recovery, and propelling the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Prime Minister stated.
This occasion marks a pivotal moment for India’s telecommunications industry, celebrating 25 remarkable years of BSNL. PM Modi will inaugurate the nation’s fully indigenous 4G stack and over 97,500 Swadeshi BSNL towers across regions such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam, Gujarat, and Bihar.
These efforts signify a monumental stride towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, establishing India as a global telecommunications leader, as per Scindia.
PM Modi is also expected to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects exceeding Rs 60,000 crore in Jharsuguda, Odisha. These initiatives span essential sectors like telecommunications, railways, higher education, healthcare, skill development, and rural housing. Modi will also speak to a public gathering during this event.
Scindia remarked that under PM Modi's self-reliant India initiative, today, “India has successfully developed an indigenous 4G stack in just 22 months.”
“This indigenous stack of BSNL showcases that India is now equipped not just to provide services but also to develop technology, rapidly progressing towards becoming a global telecom powerhouse,” he added.
The minister announced that the Prime Minister will also launch India’s complete 4G network under the Digital India Fund, aiming to connect approximately 29,000 to 30,000 villages through a mission-mode project.
