Amaravati, Sep 15 (NationPress) The District Collectors in Andhra Pradesh are set to hold Industry Day every Tuesday to tackle the challenges faced by investors and industries.
N. Yuvraj, the Secretary of the Industries Department, instructed the District Collectors to implement Industry Day similar to the grievance redressal program known as Prajavani, which takes place on Mondays.
This initiative aims to create a structured platform for directly addressing the concerns of investors and industries at the district level.
During a review meeting at the Secretariat, Yuvraj emphasized that the industrial sector plays a vital role, contributing 44 percent to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).
He underscored the importance of focusing on strengthening this sector and ensuring prompt facilitation for investors.
“District Collectors must engage directly with every entrepreneur and company seeking to invest in their districts. Any issues raised at the ground level must be resolved promptly. Land availability is crucial for industries, and priority should be given to land allotment, whether from government sources or through private land pooling when necessary,” he stated.
The Secretary directed that District Collectors simplify land acquisition processes, establish clear timelines for project initiation, and designate nodal officers for every economic hub to ensure challenges are addressed without delay.
Furthermore, he urged District Collectors to pay special attention to MSMEs, recognizing them as the backbone of district-level economic growth.
Yuvraj noted that since the formation of the TDP-BJP coalition government in June 2024, Andhra Pradesh has given the green light to 122 projects with a combined investment value of Rs 10,06,799 crore.
Over one lakh acres of land has been set aside for existing and future industrial clusters, with District Collectors instructed to expedite land pooling and allocation.
He announced the establishment of five major defense clusters across Andhra Pradesh: A Naval cluster will be developed over 3,000 acres between Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam; a Missile and Ammunition cluster will be set up over 3,000 acres at Jaggaiahpeta in NTR district; an Unmanned Systems cluster will arise over 3,000 acres in Orvakal, Kurnool district; Aerospace and Electronics clusters will come up on 4,000 to 5,000 acres between Madakasira and Lepakshi in Anantapur district; and an Aircraft component manufacturing cluster has been approved over 4,000 acres at Donakonda in Prakasam district.
He also revealed that within just one year of the TDP-led coalition government, the Centre has already sanctioned over 50 projects related to the industrial development of Andhra Pradesh.
Yuvraj urged District Collectors to provide maximum support for these initiatives to ensure swift execution.
