New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has made a significant advancement in enhancing India's digital governance by launching the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM).
Unveiled during the inaugural 'Chief Information Officer (CIO) Conference 2025', this manual is part of the Gov.In initiative.
The primary goal is to establish a cohesive and standardized digital identity for all government ministries, departments, and agencies.
The initiative aims to improve the user experience, boost accessibility, and provide a seamless digital footprint for government platforms, according to the ministry.
Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, stated, “The DBIM will advance the government's 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance' philosophy by implementing 'Uniform Governance', thereby ensuring a consistent and unified digital presence across all ministries and platforms.”
He emphasized that this initiative is designed to simplify and standardize government websites, allowing citizens from all walks of life to navigate and access vital government services with ease.
To facilitate this initiative, the government has rolled out several essential tools. The DBIM Toolkit has been crafted to guarantee uniformity in digital branding across different government platforms.
Moreover, the Gov.In CMS Platform has been introduced to assist ministries and departments in managing their websites effectively.
Additionally, the Central Content Publishing System (CCPS) has been launched to streamline content governance and maintain consistency in information sharing.
For standardizing government communication on digital platforms, the government has set up Social Media Campaign Guidelines to ensure a coherent approach to online interaction.
The MeitY website has already been revamped to adhere to DBIM guidelines, with four other ministry websites successfully transitioning to the Gov.In CMS platform.
More government portals are expected to follow suit. The DBIM will establish uniformity in color schemes, typography, and iconography, enhancing consistency across websites, mobile applications, and social media channels.
This initiative aims to help government agencies foster a robust and credible online presence, both domestically and internationally.
It aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to harness technology for improved governance and enhanced citizen services.
