New Delhi, March 31 (NationPress) In the face of mounting cyber threats and online fraud, the new Digital Jan Shakti initiative is set to play a pivotal role in safeguarding India’s digital landscape, according to Sanjay Seth, Union Minister of State for Defence.
Seth made these remarks during the launch of the Digital Jan Shakti initiative by CyberPeace, a prominent cybersecurity non-profit organization, in partnership with InMobi, India’s pioneering unicorn.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to improve digital safety and cybersecurity competencies among the youth and underserved communities throughout India.
“The Digital Jan Shakti initiative represents a significant stride towards securing India’s digital future. In a time when cyber threats are rapidly changing, I commend InMobi and CyberPeace for this initiative that will equip our youth and marginalized communities with essential cybersecurity skills,” stated Seth.
He emphasized that this initiative “is not merely important; it is essential, and these endeavors will significantly contribute to closing the digital gap and ensuring that no citizen remains vulnerable to online fraud.”
In line with PM Narendra Modi’s vision for a secure and efficient internet, the Digital Jan Shakti initiative seeks to empower India’s youth and underserved communities with cyber resilience.
“In light of increasing cyber threats, particularly concerning scams like ‘Digital Arrests’, this initiative aims to raise awareness, promote safe online habits, and cultivate a digitally aware society,” remarked Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, Global SVP & Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at InMobi.
“Our initial phase will reach upwards of 10,000 beneficiaries and will be a grassroots movement across the nation,” she added.
Major Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President of CyberPeace, stated that the Digital Jan Shakti initiative is a transformative measure for establishing a cyber-resilient India.
It will empower youth, women, and marginalized communities with vital cybersecurity expertise.
The inaugural workshop of the initiative, held in Ranchi, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 500 underserved individuals, who took part in interactive discussions on essential cybersecurity subjects such as safe online practices, strategies for protecting personal information, identifying phishing scams, and maintaining privacy on social media platforms.
