Electric Two-Wheeler Sales Surge by 29% in India for November

New Delhi, Dec 1 (NationPress) India experienced a significant 29% growth (year-on-year) in electric two-wheeler (e2W) sales for November, totaling 118,924 units. This achievement raised the cumulative sales of e2Ws over the first 11 months of the year to 1.07 million units.

November marked the third strongest month for the electric two-wheeler sector this year, following October with 219,018 units and March with 213,064 units.

The e2W sales figure of 118,924 units represented a robust 62% share of the total electric vehicle (EV) sales, which reached 191,513 units (a 24% year-on-year increase).

According to the latest Vahan data, the overall Indian EV sector, with 191,513 units sold, accounted for 6% of total automobile retail sales, which stood at 3.21 million units (32,12,301 units).

For the period of January to November this year, cumulative e2W sales hit 10,74,008 units (up 37% year-on-year), making up 60% of total EV sales.

In terms of market share, Ola Electric saw a decline to 24.54% in November.

TVS Motor recorded sales of 26,971 units in November, marking a 41% increase year-on-year with a 23% market share.

Bajaj Auto reported sales of 26,163 Chetaks last month, experiencing a remarkable 121% year-on-year surge. Since selling 10,891 units in January, Bajaj has more than doubled its monthly sales.

Ather Energy, known for its smart e-scooters, achieved sales of 12,741 units in November, an increase of 36% year-on-year. This performance gave the company an 11% market share, up from 10% the previous year.

Hero MotoCorp reported retail sales of 7,309 units, marking its second highest monthly sales this year. The manufacturer now holds a 6% market share in the Indian e2W sector.

Meanwhile, electric motorcycle manufacturer Revolt Motors experienced an impressive nearly 200% increase in demand for its products. The launch of the new RV1 and RV1+ electric bikes, coupled with an expanded distribution network, seems to have driven sales. Revolt's November retail sales reached 1,994 units (up 197% year-on-year), marking its highest monthly sales to date, with a total of 8,947 units sold from January to November.
