New Delhi, May 17 (NationPress) The renowned Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, Foxconn, is on the verge of launching its facility in Bengaluru, with commercial shipments of iPhones anticipated to start as early as June, as confirmed by Karnataka's Minister for Commerce and Industries, MB Patil.

India is now taking significant strides towards achieving “Make in India” on a global scale. Reports indicate that tech giant Apple may relocate the entire assembly of iPhones destined for the US to India by next year.

Minister Patil stated, “Foxconn’s unit at Devanahalli ITIR is nearly ready for launch, with commercial iPhone shipments expected to begin as early as June.”

In a message shared on X, the social media platform, he emphasized that this achievement extends beyond mere manufacturing.

He noted, “This marks a strategic shift. With increasing geopolitical challenges and tariff pressures, India is rapidly emerging as Apple’s favored production center. This advancement enhances Karnataka’s role in global manufacturing and paves the way for increased foreign investments — all while safeguarding stakeholder interests.”

Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, has acknowledged that for the June quarter, a majority of iPhones sold in the US will be produced in India.

Patil added, “As a Kannadiga, this is a moment of pride. From Mysuru to Cupertino, Karnataka is capturing global attention.”

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, also affirmed that India is achieving “Make in India” on a global scale.
