Bengaluru, March 9 (NationPress) The initial rear fuselage, crafted by the Indian private enterprise Alpha Tocol Engineering Services Private Ltd, for the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Mk1A, was delivered to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in attendance on Sunday.

The Defence Minister hailed this event as a pivotal moment in India's defence manufacturing journey. He stated, "This ceremony symbolizes India’s advancement towards Aatmanirbharta in defence and showcases the government’s dedication to fostering enhanced public-private collaborations."

Rajnath Singh praised both HAL and the private sector for their ongoing efforts to fortify the armed forces with state-of-the-art platforms and technologies. He noted that HAL, through its integrated model and strategies, is not only enhancing the capabilities of soldiers but also unveiling new avenues for manufacturing and R&D through partnerships with private entities.

The fuselage serves as the primary body of the aircraft, accommodating the pilot, passengers, and cargo, while the rear fuselage is responsible for supporting the tail section and related components.

To date, HAL has manufactured 12 rear fuselages for the LCA MK1A, already incorporated into aircraft on the production line. This delivery marks the integration of a significant structural module produced by an Indian private partner into the LCA Mk1A, enabling HAL to fulfill additional delivery obligations for the IAF starting from 2025-26.

The Defence Minister referred to HAL as the "fuselage" of the nation’s defence and aerospace sector, with private firms like L&T, Alpha Tocol, Tata Advanced Systems, and VEM Technologies acting as the rear fuselage, supporting HAL. He emphasized, "With these Indian components, the aircraft manufactured in our defence and aerospace sector will soar to new heights in the future."

Rajnath Singh acknowledged the bravery and commitment of air warriors as well as the domestically produced equipment contributing to the strengthening of the Indian Air Force (IAF). He remarked, "While our valiant air warriors have made an invaluable contribution, the indigenous equipment is empowering them with the necessary strength to safeguard our borders." The minister expressed confidence that both HAL and the private sector will persist in overcoming challenges and fortifying the armed forces.

HAL has placed orders with various Indian private firms including L&T, Alpha Tocol Engineering Services, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), VEM Technologies, and Lakshmi Mission Works (LMW) for supplying significant modules under the 83 LCA Mk1A contract.

The event was attended by key figures such as IAF chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, HAL CMD D.K.
