Kharagpur (West Bengal), Aug 18 (NationPress) Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed his admiration for the youth during his address at IIT Kharagpur's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, stating that it is truly motivating to witness our young innovators leading the charge for Atmanirbhar Bharat.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the billionaire industrialist remarked that at IIT Kharagpur, he perceived the promising future of Bharat, filled with confidence, bravery, and patriotism.
"The energy in the packed hall and the continuous cheers will be a lasting memory for me. On this significant occasion of IIT KGP’s Platinum Jubilee, it was heartening to see our young innovators as the torchbearers of Atmanirbhar Bharat," Gautam Adani stated.
With their enthusiasm and talent, he believes that our nation's growth narrative is boundless.
He reminded the students that the current rate of technological change is unprecedented. "This is a transformation occurring at speeds of 1X, 10X, even 100X, rapidly approaching 1000X, as AI begins to create AI, LLMs generate LLMs, robots construct robots, and machines instruct machines," he emphasized.
Additionally, Adani acknowledged that Indian corporations share the responsibility for the existing innovation gap and urged the industry to invest more in research and development. He stated, "If we in the corporate sector do not take initiative, we will continue to be consumers of global innovations rather than originators. This is a prospect we cannot endorse."
He also introduced the Adani–IIT Platinum Jubilee Change Makers Fellowship and plans to establish 'living laboratories' in renewable energy, logistics, and airport sectors, enabling IITians to experiment with their solutions on real-world problems.
His address included stories from his entrepreneurial experiences—such as the development of Mundra Port against all odds, the foray into energy, and the establishment of India’s most extensive airport network. "I reference Mundra, Khavda, and our airports because they emerged not solely from my entrepreneurial spirit but also from my belief that India's growth story is truly unstoppable," he concluded.
