Go Fashion Q2 FY27 profit crashes 59% to ₹9 crore as festive shift hits revenue
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Go Fashion (India) Limited, the company behind women's bottomwear brand Go Colors, on 30 October 2026 reported a sharp 59 per cent year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹9 crore for the second quarter of FY27, down from ₹22 crore in Q2 FY26. Revenue from operations also softened, slipping 3 per cent to ₹217.6 crore from ₹224 crore in the year-ago period, according to its stock exchange filing.
Earnings Under Pressure
The earnings decline extended beyond the bottom line. EBITDA contracted 21 per cent year-on-year to ₹53 crore, compared with ₹66.8 crore in Q2 FY26. The EBITDA margin narrowed significantly to 24.2 per cent from 29.8 per cent in the same quarter a year earlier — a compression of over 550 basis points — reflecting the dual pressure of lower topline and relatively sticky costs.
What the CEO Said
Gautam Saraogi, CEO of Go Fashion (India), attributed the weak quarter primarily to a shift in the festive calendar. 'Q2 and H1 FY27 saw us build further on the strategic priorities we outlined at the start of the year, even as the quarter was shaped by a later festive calendar. With key festivals shifting into Q3, the bulk dispatches to our LFS partners that typically take place ahead of the festive season moved into October,' he stated. Saraogi added: 'The festive season has started on a good note, and we will be better placed to assess its full impact once the period concludes.'
Store Rationalisation and Retail Footprint
Despite the earnings pressure, Go Fashion continued its strategy of shifting toward larger-format stores. During the quarter, the company opened nine new stores while closing 23 smaller outlets. The net rationalisation notwithstanding, its total retail footprint expanded to 4.48 lakh square feet as of 30 September 2026, up from 4.34 lakh square feet at the end of March 2026. According to the company, larger stores have been consistently outperforming smaller outlets and allow it to showcase a broader product portfolio while improving the overall customer experience.
What to Watch in Q3
The management's cautious optimism hinges on festive-season performance in Q3 FY27, when the deferred large-format store dispatches and key festival demand are expected to reflect in the numbers. This comes amid a broader retail environment where apparel brands have flagged calendar-driven demand volatility. How Go Colors fares during the Diwali and year-end shopping window will be critical to whether FY27 margins recover or remain under stress.
