New Delhi, Sep 19 (NationPress) The renowned US technology company Google unveiled on Friday the latest group of its complimentary three-month ‘AI accelerator’ program, which includes 20 startups chosen from over 1,600 applicants across the nation.

This initiative, named 'Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First in India', commenced this week and is focused on scaling AI-driven solutions in sectors such as healthcare, finance, climate, and education, among others. It targets AI-first startups ranging from Seed to Series A that are developing essential AI products, applications, or foundational models, as per the company’s announcement.

Participating founders will receive support including Google Cloud infrastructure and access to advanced Gemini models, alongside technical mentorship and go-to-market strategies.

“At Google, we consider startups as our co-creators in shaping the future of AI with scalable, impactful, and responsible AI solutions that will establish new industry standards,” stated Darren Mowry, VP of Global Startups at Google Cloud.

The strategic direction of this cohort aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, according to Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary of MeitY and CEO of the IndiaAI Mission.

Included in the cohort are startups that provide a comprehensive agentic platform where AI creates AI, and a healthtech startup that offers a webcam-based autism screening tool.

The program connects founders with Google engineers and industry mentors to address scaling issues, refine product roadmaps, and ensure ethical AI deployment.

The new cohort’s strategic emphasis directly corresponds with the IndiaAI Mission's startup pillar, with 45% of the program focused on leveraging Agentic AI. Multimodal AI solutions comprise 30% of the curriculum, while the remaining 25% is allocated to foundational models and Responsible AI.

India’s generative AI ecosystem has expanded 3.7 times over the past year, establishing it as the world’s second-largest GenAI startup hub, as noted in the company’s release.
