New Delhi, April 7 (NationPress) The tech behemoth Google announced on Monday its commitment to empower 20 Indian startups through the second iteration of its ‘Google for Startups Accelerator: Apps’ program.
This initiative, backed by Google Play, aims to assist app-centric startups in India in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to effectively scale their products.
The program is conducted in collaboration with the MeitY Startup Hub, which Google credits for significantly enhancing the reach and impact of this effort.
According to a statement from Google, India's startup and developer ecosystem is considered a 'hotbed of innovation,' and the company is honored to support its development.
Through the accelerator, the US-based tech giant intends to furnish emerging app startups with state-of-the-art AI tools, expert insights, and mentorship from its leading engineers and researchers.
The program will last for three months and is open to Indian startups that are either currently utilizing AI or aspiring to incorporate it into their applications.
“Startups must have a published app on the Play Store, be incorporated in India, and be funded between Seed and Series-A stages to qualify,” stated Paul Ravindranath, Program Manager of Google for Startups Accelerator India.
The upcoming cohort will place a strong emphasis on AI, acknowledging its increasing significance in the future of app development.
With customized mentorship and collaboration with Google experts, these startups will gain support to enhance their AI capabilities, improve user experience, bolster security, and accelerate user growth.
Google noted that the first cohort of 20 startups achieved significant advancements in technology, design, and user engagement, thanks to hands-on mentorship and access to Google’s resources.
The next cohort will similarly benefit from tailored support, including custom reports to optimize their performance on Google Play.
Applications will be accepted until May 15, with the program commencing in July and kicking off with a week-long bootcamp. During the application phase, interested startups can also join weekly virtual open forums every Thursday to gain insights and ask questions, as per the company.
