New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) An International Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) hosted in Gujarat has successfully produced more than 350 memoranda of understanding and export enquiries surpassing ₹500 crore, as reported by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations on Saturday.
The two-day event, held at Ganpat University during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, was organized by FIEO and took place under the auspices of the World Bank RAMP Project in collaboration with the MSME Department and iNDEXTb.
This gathering attracted a significant response from the business sector, facilitating over 2,200 structured B2B meetings between 40 international buyers from 17 countries and more than 850 Indian exporters from various sectors across Gujarat.
The focus of the International Buyer-Seller Meet revolved around critical sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agro processing, food processing, and engineering goods, according to the apex export promotion body.
High-ranking officials from both the Gujarat and central governments attended the BSM, engaging with buyers and sellers and commending FIEO's initiatives in establishing a robust platform for MSMEs and exporters to engage with global markets and enhance trade collaborations.
S C Ralhan, President of FIEO, emphasized that the event bolstered global trade connections and nurtured supply chain partnerships, further solidifying Gujarat's status as a premier hub for exports and manufacturing excellence.
The event also highlighted FIEO's dedication to advancing India's export capabilities through collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, aligning with the government’s vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', 'Local goes Global', and export-led growth, as noted by FIEO.
Additionally, FIEO welcomed the government's recent decision in September to extend the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme until March 31, 2026.
This scheme will continue to encompass exports from the domestic tariff area (DTA), advance authorisation holders, special economic zones (SEZs), and export-oriented units (EOUs).
