New Delhi, Oct 6 (NationPress) The Indian deep tech firm Tidal Wave Technologies in tandem with critical communication service provider Consort Digital announced on Monday the successful execution of a proof-of-concept focused on 5G-based mission-critical communications.

This pioneering pilot was showcased at the Amlohri Coal Mine, managed by Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of the state-owned Coal India.

This achievement signifies India’s inaugural field-proven MCX-over-5G initiative, as stated in the release. The demonstration was conducted over Tidal Wave’s private 5G network and utilized Consort Digital’s MCX ONE-critical communication platform, marking a significant milestone as the first pilot of its kind in India specifically designed for the mining industry.

“This successful demonstration is a watershed moment for India’s mission-critical communication ecosystem. The PoC confirms the preparedness of our solution for real-world applications, paving the way for the transition from narrowband to broadband and from TETRA to 5G,” remarked Sarabjeet Bhasin, Technical Director at Consort Digital.

Mission-critical communications are vital for public safety, military, and utility organizations that necessitate high reliability and security, he added.

These systems are engineered to operate seamlessly under extreme conditions, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity even in crises or during network congestion.

The pilot successfully integrated Consort Digital’s MCX ONE platform with Tidal Wave’s private 5G network, enabling connectivity for 5G drones, cameras, and environmental sensors from various OEMs.

Additionally, it confirmed the solution’s interoperability, scalability, and readiness for real-world mission-critical deployments.

“The PoC at Amlohri Coal Mine illustrates how private 5G networks can deliver the resilience, security, and high performance essential for mission-critical operations,” stated Ankit Dixit, CEO of Tidal Wave Technologies.

As critical sectors transition from narrowband to broadband, the need for advanced, interoperable, and future-ready communication platforms has surged. The companies also revealed their collaboration on joint development initiatives aimed at creating innovative industry solutions for transport, utilities, mining, public safety, and enterprise domains.
