New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) India has established itself as a significant player in the automobile manufacturing and export sector, and a similar shift has been noted in the electronics industry, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a media event on Saturday.
In his address, PM Modi highlighted that India is engaged in the production of a wide array of products — ranging from semiconductors to aircraft carriers — and that there is a keen interest globally to understand the nuances of India's success.
“India's prominence in multiple sectors is a culmination of years of diligent effort and strategic policy initiatives,” remarked PM Modi, underscoring the advancements made over the last decade, where incomplete infrastructure has been revitalized into thriving pathways with improved roads and exceptional expressways.
The Prime Minister pointed out that shorter travel times and reduced costs have enabled industries to lower logistics turnaround periods, delivering significant advantages to the automobile sector. He observed the surge in vehicle demand and the promotion of electric vehicle production, asserting that India has now become a leading automobile manufacturer and exporter.
“India is not only delivering products to the global market but is also becoming a trustworthy and dependable participant in the worldwide supply chain,” emphasized PM Modi.
In the previous ten years, electricity has reached over 25 million families for the first time, resulting in heightened demand and production in the electronics sector.
PM Modi pointed out that affordable internet has significantly increased mobile phone demand, and the enhanced availability of mobile services has driven up the consumption of digital gadgets.
Initiatives like the PLI schemes have converted this demand into a chance, propelling India to become a major exporter of electronics.
He noted that not only have millets gained international recognition, but India’s turmeric has also reached global markets, accounting for over 60% of the world’s supply. Furthermore, India’s coffee has received worldwide acclaim, making it the seventh-largest coffee exporter globally. The Prime Minister reiterated that India’s mobile phones, electronics, and pharmaceuticals are achieving global acknowledgment.
