Approximately 350 employees nearing retirement within the next year, currently serving in Assam, are expected to gain significant insights from this Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop, as stated.
The workshop is being organized by the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare in collaboration with various Central government departments and ministries, and it will take place at the Administrative Staff College Guwahati.
This initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to improve the “Ease of Living” for pensioners and their families.
Additionally, it builds upon numerous innovative measures in pension policies and the digitalization of pension-related processes recently introduced by the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare.
To ensure a seamless transition for retiring employees into this new phase of their lives, the workshop will cover a variety of topics including retirement benefits, the Central Government Health Scheme, Cyber Security, investment options, the BHAVISHYA portal, the Integrated Pensioners Portal, Family Pension, the Centralised Pension Grievance Redress and Monitoring System, the ANUBHAV Portal, and the Digital Life Certificate.
Moreover, the department is also hosting a Bankers' Awareness Programme in partnership with the State Bank of India. The aim of these workshops is to enhance awareness among pension disbursing banks regarding various pension-related regulations pertinent to Central government employees.
An Exhibition featuring Pension Disbursing Banks will also take place during the 58th PRC Workshop, where multiple banks will participate and present their best offerings related to pension issues.
All banking services related to pensions will be accessible to attendees, with banks providing guidance to retirees on how to open pension accounts and invest their pension corpus in suitable schemes.
