New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) The Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, has inaugurated a two-month awareness initiative aimed at reaching out to the vulnerable groups in society to provide them with the advantages of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0), an official announced on Friday.
Dubbed 'Angikaar 2025', this initiative aims to enhance the verification process of applications linked to the scheme and accelerate the progress of already sanctioned housing units under PMAY-U.
A significant goal of Angikaar 2025, introduced by Khattar on Thursday, is to educate stakeholders regarding the Credit Risk Guarantee Fund Trust for Low Income Housing (CRGFTLIH) scheme, as stated by the official.
The Minister emphasized that the campaign will guarantee last-mile delivery and holistic development results through proactive community engagement, focused outreach, and integration with other Government of India initiatives.
Moreover, beneficiaries of PMAY-U will also receive the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, prioritizing the housing needs of individuals from the Special Focus Group identified under PMAY-U 2.0.
A comprehensive door-to-door awareness drive will be launched nationwide, complemented by various outreach methods and community mobilization efforts. This will include a series of camps, loan fairs, and cultural events aimed at engaging prospective beneficiaries and related stakeholders to join in the Jan Bhagidari movement.
The campaign will also celebrate PMAY-U Awas Diwas on September 17, marking the first anniversary of PMAY-U 2.0.
Additionally, a key event called 'PM Awas Mela – Shehri' will be organized at the District Headquarters. In larger cities, the PM Awas Mela - Shehri will take place at the Municipal Corporation level.
This main event will occur in two phases: the first from September 17 to 27, and the second phase anytime between October 16 and 31, according to the statement.
As the flagship event, it will serve as a platform to showcase and deliver the benefits of PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0, while promoting community outreach at the grassroots level.
The PM Awas Mela - Shehri will feature a diverse range of services and dynamic community engagement activities. Alongside this, local Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) will organize a series of events at ward/cluster/city levels to create momentum for the Angikaar 2025 campaign.
