New Delhi, April 19 (NationPress) In light of escalating global trade uncertainties and tariff obstacles, the London-based consumer electronics firm Nothing is contemplating an increase in exports from India, according to CEO Carl Pei.
During a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on the X social media platform, Pei indicated that the company is evaluating the possibility of boosting exports from India to mitigate risks associated with fluctuating international trade regulations.
When questioned about the potential effects of tariffs on the tech sector and Nothing’s pricing or product demand, Pei remarked, “Who knows? Things are changing every day.”
Regarding strategies to address such challenges, Pei noted, “We are considering increasing exports from India.”
India has already established itself as a significant market for Nothing, playing a crucial role in its growth strategy. According to Counterpoint Research, the brand experienced an impressive 577 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in the country in 2024.
This remarkable performance was primarily fueled by the success of its Phone 2a series and offerings under its sub-brand CMF by Nothing.
Recently, Nothing also surpassed $1 billion in cumulative revenue. The company’s dedication to the Indian market extends beyond mere sales.
Nothing has been emphasizing local manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Its latest devices, Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro, are assembled in India.
This commitment to domestic production is anticipated to assist the company in managing costs and swiftly reacting to changes in the global supply chain.
To further bolster its strategy in India, co-founder Akis Evangelidis was recently appointed president of the company’s India operations. Upon assuming this position, Evangelidis stated that India is ‘one of the most important markets’ for Nothing.
He also disclosed plans to enhance investments in the nation, which include expanding the company’s offline presence to over 12,000 stores and increasing local manufacturing by 2025.
