New Delhi, March 4 (NationPress) In a boost to the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, the London-based tech firm Nothing introduced its new Phone (3a) series on Tuesday, aiming to enhance its mid-range offerings with cutting-edge features.

The smartphone series will be produced in Chennai, which further emphasizes Nothing’s dedication to the nation.

Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder of Nothing and newly appointed President for India, emphasized the significance of the country in the company's future plans.

India is set to become a crucial player in the global smartphone market, and “we’re committed to fast-tracking our ‘Make in India’ initiatives and increasing domestic production,” he stated.

Nothing aims to accelerate its efforts under the ‘Make in India’ campaign by boosting local manufacturing and investing significantly in the Indian market.

India has emerged as a focal point for the company after achieving a remarkable 577 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in 2024, establishing it as the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the nation.

The introduction of the Phone (3a) Series, produced locally, marks a decisive move towards solidifying the company's footprint in the Indian market while aligning with the nation’s ambition of becoming a global manufacturing hub.

The series includes two models, Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, both equipped with an enhanced triple-camera system featuring optical zoom, a robust Snapdragon processor, and a more luminous and responsive display.

The Phone (3a) is fitted with a 50MP primary sensor and a Sony ultra-wide sensor, along with optical zoom for the first time. Meanwhile, the Phone (3a) Pro boasts a periscope zoom camera capable of 60x ultra zoom.

Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, the Phone (3a) series delivers a 33 percent increase in CPU speed and an 11 percent enhancement in graphics performance compared to its predecessor.

The Phone (3a) will be priced starting at Rs 24,999, while the Phone (3a) Pro will start at Rs 29,999. As a special introductory promotion on March 11, the Phone (3a) will be available for Rs 19,999, and the Phone (3a) Pro will retail for Rs 24,999, as per the company's announcement.
