Mumbai, March 12 (NationPress) The goal is to cultivate an informed ecosystem for businesses and investors while providing young individuals with the necessary skills to navigate today’s ever-evolving financial landscape, stated Ashishkumar Chauhan, the Managing Director and CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
He highlighted various initiatives including investor education, support for raising funds through the NSE Emerge platform, and the Student Skilling Programme.
Between April 2024 and February 2025, NSE conducted 13,203 Investor Awareness Programmes across 35 states and Union Territories in 14 languages, benefiting approximately 7.24 lakh participants.
Over 4,500 students have received training under the Student Skilling Programme in multiple states.
Furthermore, 605 companies from diverse sectors are now listed on the NSE Emerge platform, collectively raising more than Rs 16,587 crore, with a total market capitalization nearing Rs 1,85,000 crore.
In addition, the NSE has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Varanasi district administration to boost financial literacy and investor awareness among MSMEs, facilitating fundraising through the IPO mechanism using the NSE SME Platform – NSE EMERGE, as well as implementing the Student Skilling Programme.
As part of this MoU, the NSE, in collaboration with the Varanasi district administration, will conduct awareness initiatives through seminars, camps, informational sessions, roadshows, and workshops to enhance financial literacy and investor awareness.
The partnership will also focus on guiding MSMEs through the fundraising process on the NSE Emerge platform and assist companies throughout the listing procedure.

This partnership between the National Stock Exchange and Varanasi District Administration marks a significant advancement toward generating new opportunities for MSMEs through capital markets while equipping our youth with industry-relevant skills,” said Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
