New Delhi, Feb 14 (NationPress) Nvidia Corporation announced on Saturday that its Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang will not be participating in the India AI Impact Summit, which is set to commence next week in the nation’s capital.
Initially, Huang was scheduled to address the media on February 17, but his trip has been called off due to unforeseen circumstances, as stated by the company.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Jensen Huang is unable to travel to India at this time," the company confirmed.
"NVIDIA remains deeply committed to the AI Impact Summit and to India’s rapidly advancing AI ecosystem," the statement added.
Despite this setback, the India AI Impact Summit will proceed as planned and promises to be a significant international event.
A senior NVIDIA delegation, led by Executive Vice President Jay Puri, will be present to honor India's exceptional AI researchers, startups, developers, and partners involved in building the nation’s AI framework.
The summit will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will take place from February 16 to February 20 in New Delhi.
Several prominent global tech leaders are still slated to attend, including Sundar Pichai from Alphabet, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Dario Amodei. In addition, ministers, policymakers, and delegates from over 45 countries will engage in discussions.
Notable world leaders have also confirmed their attendance, including France’s President Emmanuel Macron, Spain’s President Pedro Sanchez Perez-Castejon, Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and Mauritius’ Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
Representatives from the United Nations and other global organizations will also be part of the event.
The summit will revolve around three pivotal themes: People, Planet, and Progress.
Topics of discussion will encompass the implications of artificial intelligence on jobs and society, its environmental impact, and the responsible development and application of AI.
India aims to position the summit not merely as a technology showcase but as a platform for meaningful and ethical global dialogues on AI.
