Jaipur, March 31 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has made dedicated efforts to secure the maximum release of funds for the state through various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, aiming to enhance health services.

Over the past five years, Rajasthan has been allocated approximately Rs 4,300 crore under the 15th Finance Commission. Remarkably, around Rs 2,700 crore of this total was released in the last four months, thanks to the Chief Minister's relentless efforts, according to officials from the Chief Minister’s Office.

The central government has provided unprecedented funds to Rajasthan under the 15th Finance Commission, the National Health Mission, and the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.

Specifically, under the National Health Mission, the state received about Rs 2,398 crore, surpassing the projected allocation of Rs 2,383 crore for the year 2025-26, achieving 100.61% of the allocated amount.

Additionally, Rajasthan has received a record allocation of Rs 243 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. Minister for Medical and Health Gajendra Singh Khimsar emphasized that, under the Chief Minister’s visionary leadership, the Medical and Health Department is committed to reinforcing primary healthcare infrastructure, establishing Health and Wellness Centres, enhancing diagnostic facilities, and improving basic health infrastructure.

Consequently, the state has experienced a surge in funding from the Central Government across various schemes in comparison to previous years.

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, reported that funds have been allocated for several components under the 15th Finance Commission.

In the last five years, with a particular focus on bolstering basic health infrastructure in rural regions, funds totaling Rs 2,604.63 crore were allocated for the construction of facilities for sub-health centres, Primary Health Centres, and Community Health Centres; Rs 145.38 crore for public health units at the block level; Rs 764.14 crore for enhancing diagnostic infrastructure in rural areas; Rs 495 crore for Health and Wellness Centres; Rs 76.06 crore for diagnostic facilities in Urban Primary Health Centres; and Rs 220.03 crore for Urban Health and Wellness Centres.

The peak funding was recorded in the year 2025-26, with Rathore noting that the highest expenditure within the state occurred during this period as well.

She highlighted that expenditure rates were 72% in 2021-22, 82% in 2022-23, 79% in 2023-24, 97.7% in 2024-25, and 98% in 2025-26. Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, the state also registered the highest expenditure on health infrastructure this year.

Amit Yadav, Mission Director of the National Health Mission, stated that the financial support received from the 15th Finance Commission has significantly contributed to the expansion of primary health services in both rural and urban settings.

This has resulted in the construction and upgrading of thousands of sub-health centres, Primary Health Centres, and Community Health Centre buildings. Diagnostic services are now easily accessible even in smaller towns and villages. Preventive and holistic health services have been enhanced through the establishment of Health and Wellness Centres.

Moreover, the capacity for epidemic and disease control has been improved with the formation of Public Health Units at the block level.
