Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, April 2 (NationPress) Rajasthan has experienced a remarkable increase in the funds allocated from the Central Government during the financial year 2025-26. This surge is credited to the proactive efforts of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who has effectively coordinated and implemented various schemes, as stated by the Chief Minister's Public Relations Cell.
The state has secured a total of Rs 1,20,369 crore via centrally sponsored initiatives, including the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASKI), Finance Commission grants, and its share of central taxes. This amount marks the highest annual inflow compared to the previous administration's tenure.
In a noteworthy achievement, approximately Rs 19,000 crore was disbursed in March alone, contributing to a significant financial boost toward the fiscal year's conclusion.
Through the SASKI scheme, which offers interest-free loans for capital expenditures, Rajasthan received Rs 10,548 crore in 2025-26, a substantial increase from the Rs 7,290 crore received during the years 2020-21 to 2022-23.
Additionally, funds distributed through the SNA-SPARSH platform for centrally sponsored schemes totaled Rs 13,658 crore, while Rs 15,666 crore was allocated according to Finance Commission recommendations and other grants.
The health sector saw an allocation of over Rs 2,693 crore from the 15th Finance Commission, the highest in the past five years, compared to just ₹833 crore during the last three years under the previous government.
Expenditures under the National Health Mission (NHM) witnessed significant improvement, climbing from 72% in 2021-22 to an impressive 98% in both 2024-25 and 2025-26, indicating more effective utilization of funds.
For the Samagra Shiksha initiative, Rajasthan received Rs 2,972 crore in 2025-26 and over Rs 3,093 crore in the previous fiscal year, showcasing a marked increase in allocations compared to earlier years.
An additional Rs 409 crore was allocated for enhancing school infrastructure beyond the standard budgets.
Furthermore, the state received Rs 1,694 crore from the Central Road Fund, exceeding the allocations made in the last two years of the previous government.
Rajasthan has distinguished itself as a frontrunner in executing schemes via the SNA-SPARSH platform, earning an incentive grant of Rs 350 crore from the Centre.
The state government asserts that the increased fund inflow is indicative of robust Centre-State cooperation under the ‘double-engine government’, with a focus on accelerating progress across various sectors including health, education, rural development, agriculture, drinking water, and infrastructure.
