New Delhi, Oct 15 (NationPress) Users of Ray-Ban Meta glasses in India are about to enjoy a significant upgrade featuring several new Meta AI functionalities aimed at enhancing their experience to be more engaging, personalized, and enjoyable, as announced by Meta on Wednesday.
The latest enhancements comprise hands-free voice functionality, complete Hindi language support, UPI Lite payments, and festive Diwali-themed photo restyling options.
Meta emphasized that these innovations will facilitate a more localized and practical experience for users, integrating the smart glasses more seamlessly into everyday activities.
With this update, users can now communicate with Meta AI using their voice via the Ray-Ban Meta glasses or the Meta AI app.
The assistant is capable of responding vocally, answering inquiries, elaborating on topics, sharing jokes, and aiding with daily tasks.
A standout feature of this rollout is the full Hindi language support. Users can select Hindi as their language preference within the Meta AI app under Device Settings > Meta AI > Language and Voice starting this week.
This functionality enables users to engage with the glasses entirely in Hindi—from posing questions and obtaining information to capturing photos, making calls, and managing media.
This update has been powered by technologies created by Sarvam, one of India’s top foundational model enterprises.
To mark the festive season, Meta is rolling out a unique Diwali-themed photo feature.
Users can simply say, “Hey Meta, restyle this” while wearing the glasses, and Meta AI will automatically apply Diwali-inspired enhancements like lights, fireworks, and rangoli to their photographs. The modified images can then be accessed in the Meta AI app.
In another thrilling advancement, Meta is piloting UPI QR code payments directly from the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
As showcased at the Global Fintech Fest, users will soon be able to execute UPI Lite payments under Rs 1,000 just by gazing at a QR code and saying, “Hey Meta, scan and pay.”
The transaction will be processed through the user’s WhatsApp-linked bank account, allowing quicker and more effortless payments without the need for a phone or wallet.
