New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) The government announced on Monday that ‘SAMPANN’ (System for Accounting and Management of Pension) has empowered pensioners to securely access, store, and retrieve their official documents anytime and anywhere. This ensures enhanced convenience, authenticity, and long-term digital preservation of records.

It is a comprehensive, online pension management system tailored for Department of Telecommunications (DoT) pensioners, establishing a unified platform for processing, sanctioning, and disbursing pensions directly into the bank accounts of pensioners.

Additionally, it provides online grievance resolution, digital profile management, and transaction records, which enhance transparency and efficiency for retirees from the telecom sector, as stated by the Ministry of Communications.

The ministry further highlighted that in line with the government's vision for digital governance and paperless services, crucial pension-related documents such as gratuity payment orders, pension certificates/ePPOs, pension commutation payment orders, and Form 16 are now accessible via DigiLocker.

In another development, the government reported last month that 1,087 long-standing grievances from pensioners across 30 departments and ministries were addressed during the 15th Pension Adalat held this month. These grievances were associated with departments under the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, and others.

The 15th Pension Adalat took place at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) on December 24 for grievance redressal, resolving 815 grievances on the spot, which highlights the effectiveness of this initiative in delivering timely justice to pensioners, according to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Furthermore, gross enrollment in the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) reached 8,45,17,419 as of November 30, 2025. The scheme is designed to establish a universal social security system, particularly benefiting the poor, underprivileged, and unorganized sector workers. The APY scheme offers flexible minimum guaranteed pensions of Rs 1,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 4,000, or Rs 5,000 per month.
