Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister and prominent political figure from Madhya Pradesh, on April 26, 2025, inaugurated the Adani Vikas Kendra in Badarwas, Shivpuri district, in a move aimed at transforming women's economic participation through organised skill development and garment manufacturing. The facility, backed by the Adani Foundation, is expected to provide sustainable livelihoods to approximately 1,500 women at full operational capacity.

The newly inaugurated centre spans an impressive 48,000 square feet and is outfitted with 600 modern sewing machines. It has been strategically designed to serve a dual purpose — functioning simultaneously as a vocational training hub and an active garment production centre.

This integrated model allows women to acquire industry-relevant, employable skills while directly participating in organised manufacturing — eliminating the traditional gap between training and employment. The facility is among the most well-equipped women's livelihood centres in the Gwalior-Chambal belt of Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing attendees at the inauguration, Scindia framed the initiative as a grassroots expression of ambition and aspiration. "What we are witnessing in Badarwas is the power of aspiration taking shape," he said, congratulating Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, and the Adani Foundation for building a platform that connects local craftsmanship to global markets.

The minister further stated, "One can see the resolve in the eyes of my beloved didis. Their hopes and aspirations are finding expression through meaningful livelihoods. This centre is a true engine of empowerment, and over the next five years, I am confident that products from Badarwas will resonate across the country and beyond."

Scindia's remarks carry political weight — Shivpuri falls within his parliamentary constituency of Guna, and rural women's empowerment has been a recurring theme in his public outreach since returning to power under the BJP.
