New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), a digital initiative aimed at uniting India's skill development, education, employment, and entrepreneurship framework, has reached a remarkable milestone with more than 1 crore registrations, according to recent statistics from the Skill India or the National Skills Development Mission of India.

Launched in September 2023, the SIDH platform is designed to offer a holistic and user-friendly environment for skill enhancement, presenting industry-relevant skill courses, job prospects, and entrepreneurship assistance.

This platform represents a digital proliferation of skilling opportunities and is positioned at the confluence of two pivotal initiatives -- Skill India and Digital India.

In addition to surpassing a crore registrations, the latest figures indicate that 12 lakh mobile applications were downloaded. With 45 content partners, the platform offers around 1,200 Academy courses, over 1,000 self-paced courses, and more than 2,700 National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) courses. It has catalogued approximately 1 crore minutes of digital learning and has completed 3 crore minutes of e-learning to date.

According to the data, SIDH has generated 12 lakh total opportunities.

Media reports indicate that the SIDH has also enrolled close to 5,000 senior learners (aged above 50) across 505 districts nationwide, offering them courses in ML, AI, and big data.

As of June, SIDH had registered approximately 88 lakh candidates, while 9.59 lakh mobile apps were downloaded, as stated by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.

He highlighted that about 7.63 lakh candidates have enrolled in online courses via SIDH.

The SIDH platform provides courses and apprenticeship opportunities for learners. This platform aims to integrate with MSME and enable access to entrepreneurship schemes for both learners and job seekers.
