New Delhi, Dec 22 (NationPress) In a significant move, Tata Electronics has forged a strategic alliance with ROHM Co, a Japan-based semiconductor giant, to produce semiconductors in India for both local and international markets, according to a joint statement released on Monday.

During the initial phase of this collaboration, Tata Electronics and ROHM are set to establish a manufacturing framework specifically for power semiconductors in India.

This partnership will leverage ROHM’s cutting-edge device technologies combined with Tata Electronics’ expertise in semiconductor assembly and testing.

“Utilizing our semiconductor assembly and testing facilities, Tata Electronics will provide chip packaging services that will aid ROHM in developing products customized for both Indian and global markets,” stated Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics.

“This partnership is pivotal in enhancing trust and resilience in the global semiconductor supply chain while broadening our business horizons,” he added.

The alliance also aims to boost business prospects in India by tapping into the sales channels and networks of both companies.

As part of the agreement, Tata Electronics will handle the assembly and testing of ROHM’s India-designed automotive-grade N-channel 100V, 300A silicon MOSFET in a TOLL package.
